Digital City Festival is the annual event series exploring what makes a leading digital city
Our goal for Digital City Festival was to beat our previous year at Profilic North by building a Silverchip branded, digital version of the traditional Donkey Derby fairground game
While the development team were busy putting together the code for the game, I set about creating the assets for the "controller" (in this case an ipad), the racecourse, the racers, the booth itself and any other leaflets, t-shirts and promotional material.
After 2 weeks of work we had a fully functioning game, thoroughly tested by everyone in the office
Although sadly some characters were left on the cuttingroom floor due to time constraints, 20 animated characters and their various trusty steeds made it into the final game
The game proved immensely popular, to the point of requiring the implementation of a queuing system at times, attracting over 1500 players to play the game almost 300 times over the course of the 2 day event
The first character created and unofficial face of the Silverchip Donkey Derby (although not the most popular character)
